  1. The internal conflict is him missing his family when he is forced to drink the wine. The external conflict is that the king is a mean guy but if he thinks something is funny he will like you like Hop Frog because he a handicapped and a midget. the king force him the drink the wine then Hop Frog solve the problem when he drest the people up in gorilla suits to get back at them to get his own laugh out of it.

  2. internal: An internal conflict in this story is Hop-Frogs anger issues. Like when he raged with anger at the king and his ministers. Also another internal issue is Hop-Frog being happy that he burned 8 men to death while hanging them from a chandelier. Another internal conflict would be the king and his minister obsession for a good joke.

external: A few external conflicts are the king hurting people when he get angry. Also another conflict would be when Hop-Frog acted out his anger by burning the people he hated alive.

  3. In that Edgar Allan Poe story of Hop-Frog, one of the conflicts is internal which is Hop-Frog vs. Hop-Frog. He was against himself since he was short and walked funny. It was hard for him since the king and his ministers were not treating him with respect but like he was stupid which is not cool since the golden rule is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

The external conflict is Him vs. the King. He was against the King because he and his ministers did not treat him with respect as a jester just because he was a little person and he walked funny. However, Hop-Frog resolved both of his conflicts at the ball when he got the king and his ministers to dress up as apes, then he tied them in a chain and set them on fire in front of the crowd which tells you that just because people look funny, does not mean they are stupid.

  4. In the short story Hop - Frog, Hop Frog is a crippled and his arms were very strong. The internal conflict in this short story is that Hop Frog was taken prisoner during a war with a far - off country.

The external conflict is when the king made Hop Frog drink the wine as a joke, and when Hop Frog drank the wine the king said, “ See what a glass of good wine can do? Why, your eyes are shining already!” The conflict is resolved when Hop Frog took 8 ministers and the king, and dressed them like apes. Hop Frog tied the chain around all 8 of them and tortured them.

  6. In the story Hop frog by Edgar Allan Poe the protagonist Hop-Frog a Dwarf who is also a cripple who was a gift to the king during a war. Along with Trippetta, another prisoner who was given to the king along with Hop-Frog. It’s say’s in the book that Hop frog is “Twisted and Deformed” and that Trippetta is “well admired...” for her gracefulness and Skills as a dancer.

Hop-Frog mentally stability is brought into the question from being Laughed at for a long portion of his life(which is one of his internal conflicts). So when the king pushes him to far by making him drink wine(which he despises) and pushing over Trippetta and throwing wine in her face (which starts a external conflict with the king and his ministers, on Hop-Frogs birthday i might add). So Hop-Frog comes up with a devious idea, an “Ultimate Prank” to “Scare” everyone(mostly woman) so bad that it would be “Funny.” Hop-Frog’s prank is to tie the the 7 ministers and the kind together and have them where ape costumes and call it “The 8 chained Apes”
The king finds this idea to be Wonderbar and goes along with it. The ape costumes are composed of black tar and thick layers of straw to give them a realistic look(because no one in the ballroom has ever seen a real ape, so they wouldn't know the difference). Hop-Frog than chains them together and has them walk into the ballroom to scare everyone. But that’s not all Hop-Frog has planned, a hook from a chain from a chandelier on the ceiling is lowered and attached to the king and his ministers. They think this is part of the plan to scare everyone but really it was there impending doom staring them in the face. The ball room went dead silent and Hop-Frog climbed up the chains with a torch and started going berserk and foaming at the mouth and snarled his teeth. He then held the torch down to the kind a pretended to “look at the kind more closely” which he held very close to the straw and set it ablaze which almost instantly spread to every part of the tar and straw, killing them in under a minute. While the crowd the was horrified Hop Frog climbed to the near top of the chain and yelled to the crowd below “I am simply Hop-Frog, the fool- and this is my last joke!” He then climbed through the Sky-Light and disappeared to the roof where Trippetta was waiting for him. They than both went back to their country and were never seen again.

  7. I think the internal conflict is that the joker, known as Hop Frog, has a crippling disability that causes him to not walk normally, he and trippetta were known as dwarfs as it says in the story “ His name was Hop Frog. The king gave him the name because the dwarf could not walk as other men do. In fact, Hop Frog could only get around by a sorta strange step- something between a leap and a wriggle.” I think the external conflict is between the king and Hop Frog because all the king did was make fun of Hop Frog and make him do things he didn’t want to do as it says in the story “ Drink this glass of wine. Drink to the health of your friends at home.” “ Hop Frog tried to refuse the wine with a joke, but he couldn’t. It happened that it was the poor dwarfs birthday, and the mention of his friends at home brought tears to his eyes. Many large, bitter tears fell into the glass as he took it from the king.” The conflict between him and the king was resolved by Hop Frog killing the king and the ministers but I think the internal conflict will never go away because he will always be crippled but he and trippetta will never be judged again.
