I think that something should be done about the working conditions in indonesian Nike factories.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that should be improved is the pay that each worker gets, 1.50 a day isn’t enough. They probably don’t give them a lot of pay because all the money that can go to the workers, is going to athletes and colleges to endorse the products and keep their mouth’s shut. the CEO doesn’t care about the workers in indonesia, all he cares about is money money money.
Another thing that could be improved is the conditions of each worker. Nike isn’t doing anything to help the workers. They live in slums, they aren't getting any medical help, and Nike threats each worker with death if they go out of line. Whoever runs the Nike factory in indonesia could at least improve working conditions for the workers. make it so that they would like to keep working there.
One other thing that could improve is that Nike gives money to colleges, but not for better education. Nike pays the teachers to be walking billboards and advertise products to the students and general public. Nike wastes all that money on advertisement’s and athletes when they could be using it for something more helpful and productive. Like education.
The only way all of this is going to change is if the CEO of Nike stops being modern day slavery, and actually do something smart with all the money, and tell the honest truth about what happens in the factories, so the public can stop complaining.
I believe that Nike should increase wages and should recognize the bad conditions in Indonesia. I think that Nike Should amp up the wage to 5 dollars because the wage that they are living on a day is $1.25. Then I think that The CEO of the company should recognize the family living that these people have to live with and the way that the workers are treated work talking Badly about the company. Another problem that I saw that Tiger Woods is getting paid $100,000,000 just because he endorses it. I think that The CEO of the company Should lower Tiger Woods Endorsement to 5,000,00 a year and raise the wages of the workers that work for Nike.
ReplyDeleteI think that the problems that Nike has can be solved quickly. Like the wages can be solved quickly because if the CEO can cut the endorsement deal with Tiger Woods to a 20% cut. Then give the money to the workers.
I think that Nike need to change their labor ways. One of the main problems is they get out low wages. That one of their main problems because people can not survive on $1.25 a day. Another problem is the workers living conditions. Living conditions because the people are being shoved in a small 8 by 8 room, and there are rats and cockroaches everywhere.

One problem about the nike labor in indonesia is the really low wages that they are given to their works. they are only given a 1.25 per day not a enough to take care of themself and their kids. A second problem is the bad working conditions. The workers are suffering from the terrible conditions that they face while working in the factory like abuse, small working spaces and really hot in the factory. The third problem are the Athletes. The Athletes are turning away from the problem like tiger woods and michael jordan who are being paid lots of money to wear nike clothing and to support them.

For the low wage problem they could pay their workers 1.25 per hour so they could take care of themselves and their kids and not go hungry every single day.Their are a couple ways to fix the problems for the bad working conditions. Like put some air conditioners in the factory so then it won’t be so hot, give them bigger working conditions with a lot more space and don't abuse the workers for doing something wrong. The Athletes could also help with the problem like to stop buy nike clothes and to stop the work labor.

nike workers get paid 1.25$. which is too low because with that you can hardly get 2 most basic meals. which is rice and vegetables. this is ridiculous, because the average nike shoe itself cost $60+ dollars. which if you divide that by $1.25 that is able to pay 48 people. If one person makes 30 pair a day. you do the math and tell me who is getting used. the worker is only getting paid really for about less than half a shoe. I feel Nike could make there wages higher and still make a lot of money, even if it is a quarter raise they can live more simply off there wages. the problem is not changing over here because the rich people who wear the stuff makes money off of it. so they think is money, and they say whatever they need to, to get by.
another problem Nike can help is, not taking responsibility. they are not taking responsibility because it would make them look bad if they did so. if they look bad people might stop buying there merchandise along with the big sports teams that advertise there items and give them big amounts of money.
I think that the nike company workers should at least let them get payed more so that they can buy more food and clothings. I think that they are just to cuil if the increase the wages i think that there would be even better because of all of the people who is hungry and power lest at intavinia. some of the problem I can think of is if people just listen to this guy then maybe this world will be a better place for them and for us. My problem with this is that people just want stand up and just tell mike that this is just wrong and those people are also human beings and they deserve better than all of these people who is make like millions a day. Another problem that I have is that if people just want money so that they can be rich but they suck if they don’t have money they would not be the same as they are now.
