  1. Chapter 4-Alfred’s Stress
The main idea of chapter 4 is Alfred dealing with his stress. When he was going to church the rally people were making fun of him. As he was getting away from the crowd of people, harold stopped him and wanted him to join the rally. Alfred said no and Harold called him happy little darky and that made him look like he didn't care about them. While Alfred was at church he saw major and Hollis standing at the door, as he looked away they left and that scared Alfred. After church they went to go see aunt Dorothy and uncle Wilson. Uncle Wilson was comparing jeff (his son) to Alfred and that made alfred feel bad. When Alfred tried to go to sleep he could only think of what everyone has said to him, because of that he couldn’t sleep very well and he had to get up at 5:30am to train like how Mr.Donatelli told him too.

  2. Chapter 4- my job gets peoples attention
The main idea of chapter 4 is that Alfred is stressed about his job. The chapter begins when Alfred and Aunt pearl are walking to church. Alfred walks by a nationalist rally, and the person leading it insults Alfred about working for white people. As alfred kept walking he was stopped by some kids who wanted him to join the rally, but Alfred refused. When Alfred finally gets to church, near the beginning of the morning services, someone taps Alfred spots Major and his gang. After church Alfred takes a trip to Jamaica, getting there via subway. He goes there to visit his Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Wilson. Alfred talks with his uncle about different jobs, but Alfred doesn’t mention that he is training to be a fighter. When he gets back to harlem he gets ready for bed, he is worried that the next day is blue monday, and he is worried about James. He sets his alarm clock for 5:30 so he can go running before he goes to work.

  3. Chapter 4:
Meeting Uncle Wilson and start training

The main idea of chapter four is that Alfred went to the Queens to meet Uncle Wilson and Aunt Dorothy and talked to Uncle Wilson about Alfreds furture.
The chapter began with Alfred and Aunt Pearl are being harassed by other people, trying to avoid the nationalist rally and get to church. While Alfred was being harassed, he also was being called names like happy little darky. As Alfred was getting named called by Harald and Lynn were trying to get Alfred to join the crowd and protest with everyone else. Alfred didn’t want to join because he had to go to church with his Aunt Pearl. When Alfred and Aunt Pearl got to church Alfred saw Major standing in the doorway of the church. After church got done Alfred and Aunt Pearl were going to go to Aunt Dorothy's and Uncle Wilson for a family get together. When Alfred and Aunt Pearl got to the Queens of New York from the subway, Alfred met his Uncle Wilson and talked for awhile. Alfred and Uncle Wilson were talking alone in the back yard and Uncle Wilson was asking Alfred about how he’s doing in life asking him like “You got to be thinking ahead, Alfred. World is changing, opening up for colored people,” and “Been thinking about your future, Alfred.” Alfred wanted to tell Uncle Wilson about Mr. Donatelli but Alfred held it in and talked about something else. When Alfred and Aunt Pearl got back home from the Queens, Alfred look around saw how dirty and loud it was in harlem and compared it to the Queens. Before Alfred got to bed, he went to Aunt pearls room to get the alarm clock so he can start training for Mr. Donatelli.
