The first thing that Mr. Donatelli says to help Alfred is that he should eat more of certain types of food.“You don’t eat too much lunch, it just makes you slow and tired.”(Lipsyte 24) You have to eat healthy in order to be healthy.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing that Mr. Donatelli says to Alfred is to not be afraid. “ A man must have some fear” said Donatelli, and learn to control it, to make it work for him.” (Lipsyte 22) Everyone must learn to conquer their fears, and use it as their own advantage.
One other thing that Donatelli tells Alfred is to never give up. “ if you quit before you really try, that’s worse than never starting at all.” (Lipsyte 26) One should always finish what they start.

You have to start by wanting to be a contender, the man coming up, the man who knows there’s a good chance he’ll never get to the top, the man who’s willing to sweat and bleed to get up as high as his legs and his brains and his heart will take him.” (Lipsyte 25. hardcover)
ELAB: this plays a role in real life cause this quote shows to never give up and even if you may still not get to the very top just go as high as you can go.
SD: The second thing that Mr.Donatelli says to help Alfred is “im always here, Alfred. I live here now. Whatever you decide, good luck to you.”
ELAB: this to me shows that Mr.donatelli is there whenever he needs help or just a motivation and he just hopes the best for Alfred.

Donatelli wants alfred to have more energy in the morning and not so tired.The third and final thing that Mr.Donatelli says to help Alfred is “The man who knows there’s a good chance he’ll never get to the top the man who is willing to sweat and bleed to get up as high as his legs and his brain and his heart will take him” (Lipsyte 35).Donatelli is telling Alfred that it ain't going to be easy getting to the top and that you will have to train hard and it will take blood and sweat to become a champion.
