Dynamic Characters-Messenger

Write 1 paragraph for each of these characters and show how they are Dynamic characters- include details on how they started in the book and how they changed....use examples!  Each paragraph should use this format:  TS, SD (how they were at the start of book), Elab, SD (how they were at the end of book), Elab, Closer

  1. At the beginning of the book, Ed was a person who didn’t have a lot of self confidence, he had a dead end job, he lived in a shack, and his own mother hated him. But then Ed receives that aces in the mail. Ed meets new people, learns to bond with his friends and message targets, and learns new things about himself and his friends that he never knew before. At the end of the book, Ed realises that he became someone. he used to be nobody, until those aces came.

    At the beginning of the book, Audrey was not really interested in Ed, she was a nice person throughout the book. But as the book progressed, Audrey finds out about the things that Ed has done because of those aces. Then Audrey starts to fall in love with Ed. At the end of the book, Audrey asks Ed if she can move in with him. Audrey finds out that she loves Ed.

    At the beginning of the book, Marv was someone who bragged about himself being so rich, which also continued throughout the book. But near the end of the book, Ed finds out that Marv isn’t actually rich, he used to be rich, but he spent all his money, in pension. For a little girl that got left behind when her parents left town. Which turned out to be his. The big change that Marv went through was that his guilt about his daughter grew. Marv was actually poor the whole book.

    At the beginning of the book, Ritchie was someone who liked to hang out with his friends, but near the end of the book, Ed finds out that Ritchie is really poor. Ad he is really lazy. Ritchie had no job. It’s not that he can’t get a job, its that he doesn’t want to get a job, and stop being lazy. So for one of the messages Ed had to send, he help’s encourage Ritchie to get a job.

  2. Ts: In the book I am the messenger there is four main character that changed over time in the book, Ed, Marv, Ritchie, and Audrey. SD: Ed in the start of the book did nothing in his life, like his dad. Elab: In the end of the book he started to do something in his life, because he got the cards that told him what to do. Like when he helped Milla, by acting like a another person and reading to her or like when he helped the rose boys stand up for each other. In the end of the book he realized he do so much more than what he is doing. SD: Manv in the start of the book was cheap. Elab: He is cheap because later on in the book we find out he his old girlfriend had a kid. So he saves all his money for her to have a better live, but the old girlfriends dad doesn’t want Marv near that family. So Marv stood up and went to the house to see his kid and took a beating from his old girlfriend dad. In the end he gets to be with his daughter and his old girlfriend. SD: Richie was a relax character the whole book. Elab: Richie was a relax person because he didn’t want to tell anyone how he really feels. So Ed help him get his life on track and helped him realise he needed a job. SD: Audrey is a kind and caring person throughout the book. Elab: Even though she is a nice, caring person she doesn’t want to love. She doesn’t want to love because she had a rough childhood. So she won't go out with Ed the one person she truly loves. In the end of the book she lets Ed know she loves him and moves in with him. Closer: In the end of this book everyone goes through a change for the better.

    TS: Ed changed from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.
    SD: Ed was a person who does not like to do stuff he does not want to do what he has to do now.
    ELAB: he had help with a lot of the people who he has held today and now in the book.
    SD: Ed world of never done what he has to do now in till he was able to help these people.
    ELAB: when his father died he was left hopeless and he could of never known that one day he would have to finish what his father has started.
    CLOSER: This is why Ed has change throughout the book.
    Audrey
    TS: Audrey changed from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.
    SD: Audrey was the kind of girl who has loved her love to other people.
    ELAB; Audrey has had a bad life when she was growing up she had loved her family but thill one day that all change.
    SD: Audrey was always in love with Ed but she nevers comes out and says it.
    ELAB: Audrey has never told Ed of how much she has love Ed but she was never able to tell him of how much she has loved him.
    CLOSER: This is why Audrey has change throughout the book with Ed’s help.
    Marv
    TS: Marv changed from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.
    SD: Marv was a person who was very cheap and does not like to use his money.
    ELAB: Marv had a very bad car and he never wanted to get a new one. and he has lots of money.
    TS: Marv after a while Marv had to tell Ed why he is keeping so many money.
    ELAB: Marv told Ed that he has a child and he has to keep on saving up so that he can have his child back.
    CLOSER:This is why Marv has change throughout the book with Ed’s help.
    Ritchie
    TS: Ritchie changed from the beginning of the book to the end of the book.
    SD: Ritchie was a person who was a scary cat.
    ELAB: When some one was robbing the bank all Ritchie did was just be like a scary cat.
    SD: Ritchie was a person who was lazy.
    ELAB: Ritchie does not want to go get a job and he was always lazy and never clean up.
    CLOSER: This is why Ritchie has change throughout the book with Ed’s help.

  4. TS ED has changed over time in the book The Messenger
    SD Ed used to be lazy.
    Elab Ed used to be lazy because he never would go out, and now he does along with just visiting and not staying home all day.
    SD Ed used to think of himself bad.
    Elab Ed used to think bad about himself, we know this because he said in the book that he wasn't good at anything.



    TS Audrey has changed over time in the book the Messenger.
    SD Audrey used to not love.
    Elab Audrey used to not love. I know this because at a part in the book she came out and said that she is afraid to love because of her childhood home.
    SD Audrey used to not really respect herself
    Elab audrey used to not really respect herself. I know this because in the book, she never really dressed up and cared about her looks.


    TS Marv has changed throughout the rout of the book.
    SD Marv learned to be more open
    Elab I know Marv was open because, at the end Marv admitted that he had a kid.

  6. TS. The main character Ed has grown throughout the book. Ed started out in a bank robber Like where Ed goes after the bank robber. Elab This is one part that ed has changed throughout the book. [2] By that end of the book Ed has his final card that he has to do and it is on himself. Ed has to find who was sending the card to him. [2 Elab] This is Ed’s final thing that he has to do to find his way in life.
    TS. The second main character Audrey has fallen in love with Ed. Audrey started out in love with other guys than Ed. Elab This is one part that Audrey had started out not loving Ed. [2] By the End of the book Audrey has finally realized that she had feelings for Ed. [2 Elab] Audrey had final realized that she wanted to moved in with Ed.
    TS. The third main character is Marv had saved a lot of money for his kid. Marv started out saving his money. Elab He was saving his money for his Ex-Girlfriend. [2] By the End of the book Marv has the couraged to go and confront the dad and to give the money to Susan. [2 Elab] Marv has realized that he can have a kid.
    TS. The last character is Ritchie has to find his way in life. Ritchie started out a lazy bum. Elab his did not have the confidence to find his way. at the end of the book he found his way in life. elab he finally had the confidence to find his way in life.

  7. TS, Ed started out as a person who really didn't stand up for himself he was not really that conducive about himself he drives a taxes for a job.SD, Ed started change through the book when he stood up for Marv for example when they were at Henry Boyd and felt more conducive.


    TS Audrey started out as a person who doesn’t really love any more she dates a whole bunch of gives but doesn't really love them.SD, Audrey changed in the end of the book when Ed helped her feel love again and she ended up falling in love with Ed and moving in with him.

    TS, Marv started out as a person who only stood up for himself and never spent any of his money and was really cheap and would spend a penny.SD, Mavr changed in the story when Ed help out stand up to fear and face the father to let him see his kid.


    TS Ritchie started out as a person who was kind of lazy and didn’t really have a job of any kind he didn’t stand up for himself and had no achievements in life. SD, Ritchie changes in the end of the book When Ed held him out to get the courage to go look for a job and to get more motivated.
