  1. I think that the dropout rate of high schoolers is high because maybe they don’t want to go to college, maybe they don’t want to stay in school. They probably think they can get far by dropping out and finding a job right away. School’s should start caring that students are bailing out, without proper education, they won’t get far in life. School’s lose money if students drop out.

i think i know of a way that school’s could decrease the dropout rate, school’s could have more classes about job’s that student’s want to get when they graduate, in order to help them stay in school, and prepare them for their future.

Finding a job for dropouts is not easy. Statistic 12 states that dropouts have a 12 percent unemployment rate, while students with diplomas have a 4.1 percent unemployment rate. Do dropout’s even think twice before deciding whether to drop out or not? If they can really get a good job with good pay? I don’t think so.

  2. There are seven thousand kids that drop out every twenty six seconds every year. In my opinion I think that is a pretty high number. Some of the reason why I think that kids are dropping out is because school might be a lot more changing for them and harder for them to learner. Or they're just not trying at all and not really caring about their education.

Three ways that teachers could help lower the dropout rate is talking to the students, giving them tutor and calling their parents I think that schools might need to call the students that have really low grades and see if they need or need to talk about getting a tutor. The teacher could call the parents of the students that are dropping out. so that the partners can talk to their child and see what they can do to help. They could also ask the teachers to talk about the subject a little bit more so they can understand.

Two statistic that I found interesting was that there are seven thousand kids every day they leave the school every twenty six seconds. In my opinion that a lot of dropouts. Another statistic that I found was that half of students in the fifty largest school district fail to get a diploma. My opinion was there that many kids just dropping out of school.

  3. Kids that drop out usually feel that no one cares about if they fail or pass, so they wound why they should care. ¼ kids will drop out and most of them are Blacks, Hispanics, and American Indian teenagers. I think people ever dont care about what happens or they get mixed up in bad things like drugs or gangs.

The schools to lower their dropout might try to scare the kids or they tell them what their chances of succeeding in life. Their chances are not good, people who drop out make about $10,000 less in a job or are jobless. Tell them 12% of kids that dropout are jobless. They might also try to get more kids included in clubs and sports.

One of the statistic is that a dropout will cost taxpayers about $292,000 over a lifetime. Dropouts cost taxpayers 8 billion in programs like food stamps. Not only do they cost people money but they make up almost 60% of all federal inmates.

  4. I feel the dropout rate is so high because there are so many schools. With so many kids, that it is hard to focus on school. instead of focusing on school. they sit there and focus on what their friends are doing and their relationships and other pointless misleading stuff.

A way schools might lower the dropout rate is by lowering the amount in a classroom. so the kids can focus and pass the necessary classes. because when you can focus typically its a lot easier in this case it would lower dropout rates.

A statistic, in Wisconsin which as the highest high school graduation rate. (is 90%) which in that case we don't really have that many big schools and which allows us to focus and be winners at life. along with this all, we don't have that high of crime rate, in the article it says that 60% of people who don't graduate end up incarcerated.

  5. I think that the dropout rate of the high school is so high because the teacher does not care about the students. The dropout rate is also high because of the attitude of the students to make them good in school. The parents maeby did not care about their children.

They should get better teacher Mr. Newenhouse and also let the students do more of their homework. They should let the children have more time to do what they want to do like let them use the phone and that laptop of theirs. They should tell their parents about what is going on with there kids and they should try to help them.

7,000 people drop out of school a day and they will ever be able to come back to school again. its also high because the teacher don't even care about their students. the students are doing drugs and maybe doing like alcohouge.
