Charlie Todd causes bizarre, hilarious, and unexpected public scenes: Seventy synchronized dancers in storefront windows, "ghostbusters" running through the New York Public Library, and the annual no-pants subway ride. At TEDxBloomington he shows how his group, Improv Everywhere, uses these scenes to bring people together.

I do not know of anything absurd that I have chosen to be a part of.
ReplyDeletesome dangers of group-think are that someone might want to do something not part of what the rest of the group is doing, and might try to do something themselves.
I don’t have any stories of any times where I got close to strangers over a common issue.
This guy is mostly doing something good. Because New york is a really depressing place, someone is actually doing something to liven things up.
I do think that I could do something like it showed in the video.
The most absurd thing you’ve chosen to be a part of is that i had to wear some yoga pants, Doing dares that I don’t want to do. A good friend of mine has done something even worse than that he had to go up to people and pull their pants down.
ReplyDeleteThe dangers of groupthink as it relates to choices we make is getting into fights or trying to help a person who is in trouble. Another bad thing that happen in a group is that if brothers get into fights.
A story about a time when you became close with strangers over a common issue is at a football game or at any sports game. Another one is if they are at a bar and have some time to talk about their life.
The guy is doing something good because he is making people happy and have a brighter day so that they are not so sad when it comes to some of these days.
Yes as long as i get to make some people happy of what I am doing or if they want to do so that they are able to have fun and that.
The most absurd thing that i choose to be apart of is ding-dong ditching with one of my friends at night. Dangerous group thinking can lead to people getting hurt or can start a huge bloody fight. the guy in the video started something good because he brought happiness to sad, dark places.
ReplyDeleteI think that this guy is doing something good. He is doing something good because he gave a people high fives in the depressing subway. Also that he is getting people's spirits up of the day. The most absurd thing that I have been apart of is nothing. I think that the dangers of a groupthink is that it has no limit to what is going to happen. Things can get out of hand quickly For example Best Buy you can wear blue shirts and tan pants.
ReplyDeletethe most absurd thing i've chosen to be a part of is, i went to see the justin bieber movie with my cousins and it was really awkward because i was the only guy in the movie theatre, which in a way was okay because it wasn't like they were totally dumb about it, they just kinda accepted it. then had little stupid meaningless conversations about how “HOT” Justin bieber was.
ReplyDeleteanother absurd thing that i've been apart of, was i was at a rattlers game and i was in the second row right next to the dugout. i remember like it was yesterday, a batter from the rattlers was up and a fastball was hurled toward the guy. the fastball got him right in the knee cap and they showed peter from family guy holding his knee for like five minutes. the second batter was up the pitcher attempted a fastball again, the batter did some sort of bunt/whack thing. and the ball wound up coming my way and smacked into the seat next to me and a big drunk guy came running my way and dived onto the ball.
ReplyDeleteI think that the guy is doing something good and distracting. For example he is helping people come together and to get to know each other by doing all these things and making their day turn unhappy and tired to happy and active like doing the party that there was no music and just dancing randomly and helping people have a great day. I also think that he is also distracting other people for example when him and his friends dress up like the ghost busters and ran through the public library.He was distracting the people who were reading and trying to get there work done. another example was when they went into best buy and distracted all those people from their job. So I think that what he was doing was helpful to people that would never do that.
