Part 1: List one major choice Ed has made so far and the page number this choice is on.  Do you agree with the choice that he made?  What would you have done in his circumstances?

Part 2: Think of and list a major choice you have made in your life.  How may this choice change your life in a negative and/or positive way?  If you were faced with the same decision would you make the same choice again?  Why?

Part One: One major choice that Ed has made is not to kill the guy at the cathedral. “I beg, despite knowing without question what I have to do.” I think this is a good choice he has made because if he does this he will be known as a bad guy the rest of his life. He will also be looking at a long time in jail. If that would have been me I would have probably just let all of this go and done nothing. If you need something done call the police station and they will come take care of it.
Part Two: One big choice I have made is when I made the decision whether to hang around with all the popular jocks or to just hang around with the people who are nice and not so disrespectful. I chose to hang around with the better group of kids. This could have affected my life because I might have got into the wrong things like drugs and bad behavior. If I was faced with having to make this decision again I would do the same exact thing I did the first time. The reason why is because I wouldn’t want to disappoint my family, and I wouldn’t want to get things I enjoy doing taken away from me like racing.

  2. One of the choices Ed made that change his life, is when he kidnap the drunken man and through him on the ground man, put the gun up to his head. He had a choice to kill the drunk, but he took all night to make his choice to pull the trigger and send the bullet into the clouds. He told the man to get out of town and never come back. Ed choice changes this life because if he had killed the man, the gilt of the man would get to him. I would have scared him to death because he deserts it. I would shoot the ground right next to him.
One of the big choices I made in my life was when I moved to Arizona and I had to make a choice to drive there or to fly there. If I drive I would be bored out of my mind for 5 days. Or fly and be stuck in a house with people that I do not even know. So I when the flying choice, because I could make friend with them and if we go to the same school together, he might put in a good word for me. If I would have the choice again, I would choose to fly because I had the choices again because we moved back to Wisconsin. I chose that reason because school was starting and I had get there or I would not know everyone and I would have homework.

  3. Chance has made many of choices throughout the book but he has made one major choice which leads him to where he’s at and leads him to make many more responsible choices. “It makes more sense to look forward, and I slowly work my way toward the addresses on the card. First up is 45 Edgar Street” (39, Zusak). That quote shows Chance making a very important choice of going to the addresses on the card because if he never went to the addresses he would have not of met the new people he has met, know how to react to many different situations, and save the peoples live before it’s too late. I agree with the choice that Chance made. I agree with the choice that he has made because he gives his time up to look at what’s happening at those addresses and tries to help the people. When he received the first card with the addresses on it, he made that choice to go to them; he wasn’t forced to at that time. If I was in the circumstances that he was in, I would have done the same thing that he has. I would have done the same thing because it doesn’t hurt to just go and look at what’s happening at those addresses and if I had to do the same challenges that he has, I would because I believe that the more challenges you face, the better man you’ll be.

My family and I have made one huge choice, and that choice was moving to San Diego, California. My mom got a great job offer in California and my mom’s side of the family lives on the west coast. We moved out of a very trashy city that only consists of drugs, and gangs. That city was called Sheboygan, WI. When we moved out there, I was only eleven years old and I had to give up everything that I had besides my family to move to California for more opportunities. The choice that my family and I have made has both a positive and negative side. The positive side is that we moved out of that city, and if we didn’t I probably would have been in jail and coping with all sorts of drugs. Another positive is that it made me emotionally stronger and also made my family better but not financially. One negative is that my parents both had good jobs when we lived in Sheboygan and they had to give them up, and when we moved out to California the recession was already happening, making it difficult for my dad to get a job. If I was faced with that decision again I wouldn’t do it again because I’m doing really well in school and don’t want to face all that stress that comes along with moving half way across the country. I’m doing well where I’m at; I don’t want to do something that could change that.

“The Doorman looks at me as if I’m insane.” In this book Ed Receives a gun in the mail with only one bullet to kill one man. The reason Ed was out to kill this guy is because he it was part of his mission Ed did not really kill the guy though he just scared the poor guy so that his mission would be successful. I agree with the choice Ed made of letting the poor guy go because if he would have shot him he would have landed in Australian Prison.
A major choice I made in my life was to go into the woods or not and I decided to go for a hike with my buddy’s in the woods and it was fun for a while… until I was spotted by the school cop and my mission of hiking in the woods was over and I will never make that choice again.
