After watching Boatlift, think about this question: "A hero is a man who does what he can." In your blog, answer this question as it relates to the video. Use Heroism Characteristics to explain how the boat captains were heroes. TS, SD, Elab, SD, Elab, SD, Elab, Closer.
“A hero is a man who does what he can.” That would fall in the hand if all the captions on the boat, that help all of the people get off of New York City, when the planes the world trade center. When the first’s plane hit people started to panic. They ran to the end of the island when they meet the ocean, caption of the ship that there at the port where being flooded by people wanting to get of the island. They had to make a hard choice to be the saver of hundreds of people or leave by yourself and save your skin. All of the boat started saving people, from the smoke. After about 30 mins of this the coast guard called in all the boat to save the people of New York. About 10 mins later about 100 brave captions came and went with people from New York. After nine hour of this everyone was off of New York City and those entire caption was thank for his help and ask for nothing in return. That is one to show that you are a hero to hundreds of people in New York.
ReplyDelete“A hero is a man who does what he can,” because during 911, thousands of people were rescued from the evil dark smoke of which erupted from the buildings. Because it was on an island they had to rescue them by boat so for 9 hours straight hundreds of boats came. To rescue these poor citizens of New York and by doing this they showed many characteristics of heroism and giving to society because they gave to society by helping others. Another Characteristic of heroism is that the boat captains displayed is bravery. They showed Bravery because they were doing what they felt was the right thing to do rescuing people from 911. They did an outstanding achievement of calling in hundreds of boats to save the lives of thousands of citizens. This was a great day in history because of all those people who really put their time and their effort into helping others survive this tragic day.
ReplyDelete“A hero is a man who does what he can.” On 9/11 everyone was scared, but only a few people actually stepped up and did what they can. Most of those people were the captains. The captains were being very brave after the Trade Centers got hit. They were being brave because they saw so many families, kids, elderly and many more people in the society in need of help, so the captains put everyone in front of themselves even if it means that they die. Another characteristic the captains had was outstanding achievement. They showed outstanding achievement because a lot of the captains came together to help save everyone, this was the biggest evacuation of all time. They save 500,000 people in less than 9 hours. Not just the captains showed heroism, everyone else showed it too. 9/11 was the day where everyone was being generous. Everyone was being generous because they knew that they weren’t the only one struggling, they tried to help anyone and everyone out if they can. Everyone on 9/11 was showing at least one characteristic of heroism, and a lot of different characteristics from the 3 examples I evaluated on.
