  1. Obese children shouldn’t be taken away from their parent(s).When the child gets taken away from their parent(s) it affects they’re mental health. It affects they’re mental health because they know why they got taken away from their parents, so they start to be negative toward themselves. Another reason why they shouldn’t be taken away is that it’s not the parents fault. It’s not the parents fault because in most cases of obesity it’s the genetic diversity, the genes got passed down to them so they can’t control how much food they eat. Another reason is even if the child did get taken away it doesn’t always mean that they will lose the weight. It doesn’t always mean that it will help them lose weight because Annemarie (3 year old weighing 90 pounds) got taken away from her parents and put into a foster care for two months, the foster care didn’t improve her at all and later she was diagnosed with genetic predisposition. The way that the officials are trying to stop child obesity is a little bit ridiculous, a reasonable way to lower the rates is to enroll the child into health clubs to have them exercise and if they refuse to participate, put them on a healthier diet.

  2. I think that an overweight kid getting taken away from their parents is wrong. First reason this is wrong is that it’s the parent’s child and they don’t deserve to get taken away. Because the parent can handle the parenting of the child not the department of child and family services group taking the kid away from the parents.
It is the parents fault if the kid gets obese. I think that it’s very important that all kids are healthy when they are young. If you’re really young and you’re obese it affects a lot of things including breathing issues. But that’s still not enough to take the kid away from the parent because there is no reason to take a child away from the parents just because they are overweight.

  3. Should Overweight Children Taken From their Parents?
I think obese children should be taken from their parents.
First, the reason the kid are overweight is the neglect form the parents. It’s the parents Fault because the parents mostly control the food that the children eat.
Secondly, the parent t of these children is not caring enough to make them exercise to try to loss the weight.
The parent does all the work and the children sit and watch T.V. they should be put to work like lawn mowing and pick up clothing and helping put with other thing. Even a run around the block will help.
The children should be sent to a camp to lose weight and stay there when they are at a healthy weight they can be brought back to their parent. The parent should be watched when they get their children back until the city think they are ready to be on their own.
This are just many was to prove that their parent are not taking care of their children.
