In Manuel Scott's presentation, he said "Don't settle for mediocrity". Explain what this means in your own words and use evidence from your life and his presentation.
“Don’t settle for mediocrity” we had a motivational speaker today and his name was Manual v Scott. He was talking about his life when he was a little boy. And how he didn’t get treated well and how he dropped out of school and he got into trouble when he was a kid to tell us that he smoked crack and did a lot of bad stuff when he was a little boy. He turned his life around when he was sitting on a park bench when some man came up to him and told him he was just like him and he wanted Manual to go back to school and be better dad that his dad never was. That really touched a lot of people and they started to cry. My story is not even close to Manuals story but it’s somewhat the same. After hearing what Manual said he helped me realize that you can do anything if you get help with your problems and fix them and you can be a really good person instead of the person you used to be.
In school, a lot of people settle for mediocrity, just getting through school. People shouldn’t “Just” get by, they should shoot for great. What I mean by that it, is getting A’s. A lot of kids just get a passing grade, by if you don’t settle for mediocrity you will try your hardest and get really good grades. School isn’t the only place where you shouldn’t settle for mediocrity, for example you shouldn’t settle for mediocrity on a job because if you try your hardest you will get promoted and you could get a good reference if your searching for a job later. If try your hardest at everything you do and not settle for mediocrity, you will get rewarded sometime in your life.
Don’t settle of mediocrity because if you have the power to make it big in life then you should follow that path. Do not go down the path that leads to pain and death and tragedy. When you look in to other people life the rich settle lest because they felt like they can do everything because they have money. And easily go back the way they were. Like in every movie you watch you see this million air that sell drugs to get richer. But they can do so much better than that they can give so money to schools and charades. And poor people don’t thing like that the parent need as much money they need to suvies and all the money saved they go to their children further so they don’t have to live like this when they have their family. Because when your parent what you to be better then you in there further and not how you grow up in the slums of the neighborhood
