How does the Super Size Me video use Ethos, Logos, and Pathos to persuade the viewer?
Ethos - Credibility, Titles, Experience (Expert Opinion, Celebrity Endorsement)
Logos - Logic, Numbers, Statistics, Phrases (if-then, therefore)
Pathos - Sympathy and Empathy. Emotions. Not only sad - Laughter, sense of community, connections
The movie “Super Size” Me uses ethos, logos, and pathos throughout the movie.
ReplyDeleteThe movie uses ethos when Morgan goes to see the doctors during his high fat diet. He is getting expert opinions on what he should be doing during this diet.
the Movie uses logos when Morgan gets the results back about his blood sugar, fat, etc, and when he is looking at the nutrition facts for each of the menu items.
The movie uses pathos when Morgan told that group of people to say the pledge of allegiance in front of the white house, it was a show of emotions because they couldn't say it without laughing or saying it wrong.
In Super Size Me he uses Logos, Ethos, and Pathos. He use ethos by experiencing what it is like to eat fast food everyday and in the end he see the downside of eating like that. For logos he went to the doctor to see how his body was doing at least 3 times in a 30 day period and he told him his weight and stuff like that. Pathos he puked on the 2 day of eating out and it shows you that your body isn't suppose to eat like that all the time, maybe once in awhile. That how Super size me uses logos, Ethos, and Pathos
ReplyDeleteThe movie super size me use lots of Ethos,Logos and pathos that were all shown in the movie. For Ethos he went to three doctors to talk about what would happen to his body if he did the MacDonald challenge for a month. For Logos it showed the number of people that had diabease form eating MacDonald and also showed the number of MacDonald that there were in the area. Last but not least is Pathos he started to get emotional during the challenge he thought that he really couldn't go on and he started to feel like everybody else who eats MacDonald. all these example show why people shouldn't eat fast food.
ReplyDeleteEthos: In the movie there were 4 different Experts in the movie. They was physicians (a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist, and a general practitioner), as well as a nutritionist because to track his progress. This shows Ethos because it has different experts to talk about.
ReplyDeleteLogos: The #’s/ Stats said that he gained 17 pounds (8.5 kg) in 12 days because of all the super sized meals that he had gotten. Also that his total of sugar for the whole month was 30 pounds and that is a bls. per day.

ELAB: All of the doctors that he has talk though this whole movie was giving him some advice that he was doing fine and so that if he want to do this test he can go right ahead. Later on he kept on eating fast food now he finds out that he has lots of problem and he need to fix it. By stop eating
SD: Logos Is logat that you can get fat from eating too much fast food.
ELAB: After 10 days of eating the fast food from Mcdonalds he has gain to about like 15 pounds. after the whole month he has gain to about like 24 ponds.
SD: Ethos all of the emotion that he got from eating all of those food made him sick and tired a lot.
ELAB: He got really sick after the 30 days that he was about to die. At the beginning he puck a lot and the doctors all of them tell him to stop doing things but he did not listen to them.
In the movie Super Size Me, Morgan Spurlock use Ethos, Logos, and Pathos to persuade the viewer. Morgan Spurlock, show us Ethos is where he go to three different doctor/heath specials to get there opinion on fast food. where they said the only time to should eat fast food is if the war that ravaged the world and the very last thing on the planet is fast food. then he show us Logos is statistics is when looking for a food chart for find out what in the food, 1 out of 4 had little to none food chart to the public to see, because there online chart can not be reach by more than half of the world still have no internet.threely he show us Pathos by having mood swings, feeling of depression, there he only feel happy eating mcdonald where he was not he wanted more. making a connection yesterday i had mcdonald and after that i feel sick to my stomach.

ReplyDeleteAn example of Ethos in the movie is that he was evaluated by the doctors because, they were experts and gave him advice. In the supersize me video they used Logos because, it was logical that he was going to get bigger because, the food he was eating is pure bad. The last thing the video used was pathos, they used examples of people who have lost people all because of food.
