ReplyDeleteYou may not know it, but video games play a big role in the economy. From MMO’s to consoles, they are contributing to it’s downfall. the more people who play games, the less people are doing to help with the economy. But they don't hurt the economy, if more people actually do buy video games, it helps the economy.
It’s true that video games have their up’s and down’s during these hard times. companies spend money to make these games, we in return, spend money to buy them, it’s a win-win situation. And we keep spending and spending on making newer games and wanting to play newer games. It’s a big help to the economy as well.
2:50 AM the page goes out for a volunteer ambulance to respond to 152 maze ave. its the 3 time they have gone to the same house to pick up the same person, yet the person is not sick or hurt. he is what the medics call a frequent flyer. and who pays for his costly ride to the hospital YOU THE TAXPAYER DO. frequent flyers are people who constantly call the ambulance for a ride the abuse the system and as of now the ambulance company can not refuse the transport no matter how stupid the reason. is these people call the ambulance because they are lonely, want a free ride down town, need money (pocket the insurance money instead of paying the ambulance) the list gos on and on. but one thing's for sure you are paying the price for their stupidity.
ReplyDeletein the consumer world we live in nothing is free, there is a some sort of fee for everything we do. when people mess with the system someone still has to pay, and in this case its you the taxpayer. on average it cost 320-800 dollars for a ride to the hospital non emergency. now if you take that number and times it by 140 the amount of times a man called the ambulance for a ride to the hospital in new york you can see how it adds up. and thats just one of many people who use the system wrongly. the solution let ambulance medics decide whether to transport let them. take vitals send them in to the doctor and they make the call whether to take them by ambulance or if they can transport himself or herself in there own car to the hospital.
This article is about how When Consumerism Gets Out of Hand. It seems that enough is never enough and Americans are constantly purchasing unnecessary goods. Record show our country’s problem with mass consumption that can’t be ignored any longer. the last twenty years American savings dropped from 11% to below zero. As more Americans fall into debt. As america’s rates of consumption have become really high so have the effects to peoples lives. Most hoarders put their life savings into their disorder may also fall into debt. Some hoarders may even have large amount of valuable items cluttering up their homes like silver buyers.

This article is relate to consumerism because consumerism is a economic order that encourages the purchase of goods. Then when these people see what's on the TV and see how useful it can be. Then that is when people would start to buy and collect more and more. Then they don’t throw any of it away and keeps to pile up until there house overflows . Than their houses start to get infected with bugs because of all the food that they buy from the consumerism.
In the article “Advertising Alcohol to Children,” it talked about how advertisers indirectly advertise these things to children. They said how they do it, and make it look appealing. With the fact of that children are starting to drink earlier and earlier in there lives. they even are promoting children to wear stuff that says all these brands.

This relates to consumerism because this is all part of advertising. The way they get things out there and target it toward a certain audience. An example I have experienced is that when I was little and we used to get the cool aid in the bottles. I mistaken it for one because it looked like kool aid. (wine cooler) I drank it and never knew it was a alcoholic beverage. Now when my dad occasionally lets me have one i'm aware and know what it is and what it can do and that it will no longer trick me again.

ReplyDeleteIn today's world kids are one of the biggest consumers out there. In the teenage range they spent well over million. The advertisement the company spend on them in around $16 million. They all want the brand name stuff, they don’t pay for the close they pay for the brand. Your kids and people believe very thing they see or read. They don't look what's behind the curtain, they just look at what in front of them. Young people want to be “cool” not comfortable.
You may know that video games and video they use this so that people will want to go and buy stuff from these stores like the game gran turismo 5 or somthing it has a lot in there is has sonny, apple, best buy, sweat cars that are real, logos and also real people to make you want to play more of this game. If you think about it Video games do not hurt the economy. People who spend hundreds of hours a week on video games probably always spend hundreds of hours playing video games, whether there’s a new Skyrim around or not. These people probably never contribute to productivity. For those of us who work or go to school, spending hundreds of hours playing a video game is just not possible. But purchasing a video game is always a good thing. Whether you’re playing 10 hours a week or 100, the money you spend is slowly but surely stimulating the economy.

Ya games might be bad sometimes but still some of the games are just there for you to learn and want to go out and buy some stuff from all of these store that are in these game. Some games are here for you to learn so they put like education stuff and there and that is consumerism trying to make you go to best but to buy games. they are trying to make you buy apple CPU and phones. The education is also consumerism because they want you to stay addicted so you can past school and that. Games are good for the economy so deal with it.
