Levels of success/Mexican fishing short story
After reading the story of the Mexican fishing story and the levels of success one can achieve in their life, answer the following questions. At what level of success are you aiming your goals towards? Do you want to merely become wealthy, be a "winner," or do you want to make a difference in the world? Explain your position using examples from your goals and your real life experiences. use at least two examples to back up your thinking.

I am trying to hit the third level because I always want to make a different in the world. I want to do something that everyone will remember me for. For example, I want to save some one life from death. Someone I have no idea who he is, but I save him every was. Now if I was trying to hit Level 1 or 2, I would not have save him because I would not have to risk my life to save some nobody. I would be to busy to even think about try to save him. Just like in school it you a just fall and ask for help, not one of the “cool kids” will help you because they don’t want to look nice, because they have other thing to do. But a kid that is trying to hit level 3, will come and help you up and pick up your book. Other example is a homeless man is sitting on the ground asking for money. You will give him some money, even a tip if he said something nice. Then the man that level 1 or 2 will walk by and does not even try to think that he even there. When the homeless man ask him for money, the man flips out on the homeless man the he is just going to buy beer with it and then walks away. One more example is when I when to ShopKo and the people that were ringing the bell ask a man if he want to give money to people and he just walk fast into ShopKo I was behind him and I gave them money. Because I did not need the money because I was just going to buy candy with it.
ReplyDeleteEveryone wants to have tons of money, clothes, cars, and a nice house but they never think about the rest of the world. Although a lot of people are that way, I’m not. The first reason why I’m not like that is that I want to be at Contributive Perspective success level. I want to be at that success level because I like the feeling of helping someone and doing something good in society so I generally put others before me. Another reason why I don’t put money, clothes, cars, and houses before the rest of the world is that I want to make a difference in the world. I want to make a difference in the world because not many people actually do and by helping others out, you feel much better about yourself. The third reason why possessions and wealth aren’t as important to me is that you could have a more enjoyable life than the people who possessions and wealth are they’re only priority in life. You live a more enjoyable life because you know the value of money, be more respected than others, and you can become really close to people that shared the similar interest as you. These are just a few reasons why I put the rest of the world in front of money and possessions, there are still many more that I have not listed.

ReplyDeleteI think it is important to be successful. I am aiming my goals to a high level of success, but still making sure I have a life outside of the work force. As I see all these people winning the lottery and making money off of foolish things like that I realize how much more accomplished I will feel having a job and just making the best of what I will have. When I look at what money means compared to having a family and just living life to the fullest I realize that’s a much better way to go. A main goal I want to accomplish is to pass and graduate high school. After that I am going to go to college for auto mechanics, and while doing that go out and work for my dad. This will be a good goal for me because it will give me a good look at life. Right after I get out of college I am planning on becoming a main employee for my dad. By the time I am 25 or 30 I am going to take over my dad’s business. A lot of people want to become a magic winner right away without even doing anything, but I want to make a big difference in the world not only by having a good business but by being a part of society like participating in benefits for good causes. This is my plan for the future.
